Val Tyler, author of Time Wreccas
I was a teacher for twenty years and taught every age group from five to eighteen.
I loved books but found it frustrating that there were so few long, meaty adventure stories for both boys and girls to enjoy. The Time Wreccas and The Time Apprentice are my offerings.
I'm now a full-time writer and live in the middle of a beautiful farm in Wales. I am surrounded by sheep and other animals. During March I enjoy helping my neighbours with lambing. The lambs and calves are all so cute!
While I was writing The Time Wreccas I lived near Greenwich Park. I used to love walking in the park, which is where the book is set.
School visits
One of my favourite things is visiting schools. I am happy to fit in with the school's own plans and priorities, but am generally asked to focus on writing skills and approaches with Key Stages 1 to 3 and on careers with Sixth Forms. Teachers, if you would like to book a visit have a look at the page for school visits.
