THE GHOST PARTY

5P – Walton Priory Middle School

Boom! The ferocious storm carried on above Walton Priory Middle School. The rain pattered down fiercely on the rooftops and the lightning was racing through the sky like racehorses galloping to the finish line below. It seems that the only sound to be heard in the pitch black night was the wind sweeping off the trees at every chance. But in the gloomy and deserted Year 5 area, a quiet stirring could be heard ….

Creek! Someone silently creeps past the pillar in the Year 5 large area. “Do you think we’re safe” whispered a small, quiet voice. “Yes, we are safe” came the reply from yet another disembodied voice. Just then two swift figures glided out from under a table and settled themselves in the empty and open soft area. These figures are almost invisible with only faint white lines as a guide to their presence. Instead of walking, they hover about an inch or two above the ground and glide along like hang gliders.

“C’mon” whispers the small quiet voice. Then after glancing round a few times to check that they were completely alone, the quiet voice changed into a loud voice as he shouted “Let’s get this party started!!” Next, the strangely paranormal creatures started swinging excitedly on the tops of two old and dusty whiteboards. They used scraps of old dirty paper as snowballs, hurling them at each other and rudely knocking over overflowing cupboards. They ripped pages out of ancient looking books, leaving them so that nobody could ever hope of reading them. It was probably one of the best parties that anyone or anything ever had, but it was about to come to a sudden end.

Suddenly the sound of a car engine came into earshot of our little partiers and from the soaked window of the year 5 large bay, you could see a pair of car headlights speeding down the school driveway like cats eyes pelting down a dark alleyway. “Aagghh!” screams one of the figures, “tidy up, tidy up before the teacher comes!” And before you could realise a thing, the paper was in the bin, the cupboards were back in place and the books had been glued back together. “Wait!” cried one ghost to the other. “I have to get my revenge”. “Revenge, what revenge?” cried the other in alarm. The answer came quickly. “You see, this teacher was very mean to me before I died. Every day at school she would drag me into the toilets, swear at me, then tug viciously at my hair until I promised not to tell!” After hearing this, the other ghost quickly agreed that this was an opportunity not to be missed. With no time to waste they cleverly created a stink bomb, (that smelt of rotten eggs if you’re after the gory bits) and placed an old, manky banana skin right in the middle of the Year 5 corridor. Then, just as the teacher calmly walked through the door the ghosts dived through the window, but knocking the old blinds as they did so. A part of the blind was left half on the floor, it’s only connection with the rest of the blind was a small thread.

The two ghosts ducked down outside the window and watched as the teacher walked into the room. Just as she entered the Year 5 corridor, the stink bomb erupted, making a truly hideous smell. In her disgust, the teacher toppled over and her feet slipped on the rotten banana skin, which sent her flying! She looked around the Year 5 area, supposedly looking for an explanation for all this havoc.

The ghosts suddenly realised their mistake and began arguing with each other. “It’s all your fault” cried one, “you dived through the window last.”
“But you told me to.” sobbed the other one, who was now in tears. Then they began their own little boxing match, punching and kicking each other viciously. Suddenly, a scream turned their tiny little brains back to what was happening inside Walton Priory Middle School. The teacher had seen the blind and was in a sort of trance gazing at the blind in wonder. She quickly snapped back into the real world, got to her feet and turned away, muttering something like “oh, that darn blind!”

As the teacher walked past her desk, a bucket of ice cold water tumbled down from the overhead rafters onto her, soaking her in freezing water! “Aagghh!” she screamed, “this is the worst night ever!!!” The ghosts looked at each other and one said “You can never have too much revenge!!”
