Wrecca-speak - how the Wreccas talk
The Wreccas separated themselves from the rest of the Guardian world many, many centuries ago. Inevitably, their language has developed along slightly different lines, but their accent has not, they just use words differently.
For example, they never say ‘me’ or ‘we’ but ‘I’ and ‘us’.
They don’t always use plurals and so will say ‘us is’ instead of ‘we are’. ‘I am’ becomes ‘I is’ which is always shortened to ‘I’s’.
They have reduced down the number of pronouns by only ever using ‘him’ and ‘her’ and so they never say ‘he’ or ‘she’.
They muddle ‘doesn’t’ and ‘don’t’.
They muddle ‘have’ and ‘has’.
They always say ‘yer’ and ‘ner’ instead of ‘yes’ and ‘no’.
They have forgotten irregular verbs. Instead of saying, ‘He gave it to me,’ or ‘We ran away,’ they would say ‘Him gived it to I,’ or ‘Us runned away.’
The Wreccas have no education. They cannot read and can only count a little. Their language is simple. Wreccas do not understand difficult words and so they do not use them.
Where words can be shortened, they will, and so they will say ‘’cos’, ‘’cept’ and ‘’til’ instead of ‘because’, except’, and ‘until’.
There are a few more differences. Can you work them out?
